As with yesterday morning, I started by setting up my cushion and adding a small amount of essential oil to a warming bowl and lit the candle. I sat down and was pleased to see I could remember the six checkpoints.

Motivation, Goals, Expectations, Dilligence, Distractions and Posture. I started my timer and settled in to start checking my preparations


Internal Preparation Comment
Motivation • Peaceful mind and more focus
Goals • Multi minute periods of attention to breath
Possible Distractions • Busy day of work ahead
• Also a small legal matter
Posture • Adjusted feet in crossed legs on two cushions

Although my preparations went well, I found a lot of wandering during the main session. I did notice at times some absorption into the breath attention, but this was often quickly followed by mind wandering which plagued the last 15 minutes of practice. I will try to increase focus in future sessions.
