I decided to take a slightly longer route to the shops giving me a fifteen minute period to do some walking meditation.

  • Peaceful mind and more focus
  • Keep Focus all the way to the shops

After the success of the last walking meditation, I had high hopes for this session. I set out and went through the steps above fairly quickly. I sort of attempted a body scan at the start, but after noticing that I would be focusing on the sensation in my legs throughout, I stopped to instead focus here.

I found the same good rhythm as before, counting “1”, “2”, “3”, “4” internally as I walked. I intended today to also pay particular attention to the sensations in my feet and legs as I walked. I also chose to continue at a normal pace.

This rhythm kept well for the meditation, if any distractions happened, it tended to be the body sensations which disappeared first. I noticed some general memories or planning pop up, but I was able to keep the focus steady until the shops.

To improve here, I will have to keep both the counting rhythm and the awareness of sensations active together.
