Preparation

I need to get on the road this morning. So this might be a quick review! I got set up and I’d already had a coffee I went into my office to set up. I lit a candle for the essential oil and sat cross-legged.

Motivation
  • Peaceful mind and more focus
  • More presense in daily life
Goals
  • Count of 40 after the outbreath, then 40 before in breath. Finally just close awareness of breathing

  • Children interupting

  • Seated on a pair of cushions on the floor - cross legged.

Review

Although I was tired this morning, there was not a lot of talking in my head. I had a good idea of my intentions and I was able to set these out in my mind quickly.

Moving on I sat with awareness of the body for a little over a minute and started to do the breathing. Although I was tired and a little dull I was not dragged away by mind wandering. Instead, there was a subtle dullness which was luring me away from a full awareness and heading back towards sleep.

After about five minutes my youngest burst in. He looked a the candle and was generally charming until mum dragged him away. This interruption was not an issue for me and I went back to finish.

I got through the two sets of forty breaths and sat in awareness. Here a little thinking popped up but was not a big distraction. Eventually I finished a fragmented, but still enjoyable session.
